Chennai, Apr 16: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today sought Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's intervention to bring to an end the truckers' strike, which entered the third day today. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Jayalalithaa said the strike by the lorry operators was "causing undue hardship" to the general public with shortages in perishables pushing up prices. "I understand that discussions are to be held at ministerial level at new delhi to go into the issues raised by the lorry operators." "May I request you to use your good offices to have this strike resolved urgently, lest it causes further hardship to the public?".
