Malhotra condoles Wilson Jones` death
New Delhi, Oct 06: Vijay Kumar Malhotra, president of the All India Council of Sports (AICS), today condoled the death of former world billiards champion Wilson Jones, who passed away in Mumbai on Saturday.

passed away in Mumbai on Saturday.
"Mr Jones' death is an irreparable damage to the world of
sports in general and billiards and snooker games in
particular," Malhotra said in a statement here.
"His efforts to popularise this sport in country and his memorable feat of winning the coveted world title twice is the highest watermark in the annals of Indian sports.
"He inspired many players such as Geet Sethi and others to seek excellence in this sport," he added.
The first Indian to don the tag of `world champion' in any sport, Jones, died in Mumbai after a prolonged illness.
