Islamabad, Dec 05: Middle-order batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq was retained as captain while Younis Khan made a comeback in the 16-member squad for Pakistan's upcoming tour of New Zealand. Announcing the squad, chairman of the selection committee Aamir Sohail said the team was a combination of young players and those who have been in the team for the last six or seven months.
"This is the best combination we can provide considering the conditions in New Zealand. There are plenty of options for the team management in all the departments to field a winning team," said Sohail who was recently involved in a verbal spat with the coach and the captain over the naming of probables for the one-day series against New Zealand at home.
Pakistan are slated to play two Test matches and five one-day internationals during their tour which begins on December 11.
