Chennai, June 11: Madurai district police today served summons on the wife of M K Azhagiri, son of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, directing her to be present at her Madurai residence on Friday when police has proposed to search the place in connection with murder of former DMK minister T Kiruttinan. The summons were served on Gandimathi, who is staying here at the Gopalpuram residence of Karunanidhi along with her children since the arrest of her husband, allegedly involved in the murder of the former minister on May 20, police said. On June 9, the sixth judicial magistrate Madurai K Vanitha had issued permission to the police to search the residence of Azhagiri in the presence of his wife and a revenue officer not below the rank of tehsildar. Azhagiri was accused of being involved in the conspiracy, which resulted in the murder of Kiruttinan at Azhagappan Nagar in Madurai.
The summons was served by inspector Muthu Sankaralingam in the presence of an advocate, police said.
