Bahraich, Nov 15: BSP national president Maywati today charged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav with working on the directions of BJP and ignoring the issues related to welfare of Dalits and backwards in the state.
"Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav might be the chief minister but BJP and industrialists hold the remote control of the state," Mayawati said at an election meeting for the Mahsi assembly by-election slated for next month.
'After the BJP failed to persuade me to get things done their way they are now using Yadav to safegurad the interests of the saffron party," the former chief minister said adding BJP plotted against her after she refused to toe their line on the Ayodhya issue and filling the backlog in reserved posts in various government departments.
She said that the priorities of sp had shifted and it was now acting in the interest of industrialists and manuwadis.
"The SP is no longer interested in the welfare of Dalits and backwards," she added.
The BSP leader alleged that taking advantage of the illness of BSP supremo Kanshi Ram, attempts were made to split the party.
