Kolkata, Aug 19: After its successful two-year stint in creating energy awareness through its hi-tech energy education park here, the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency would now set up similar projects across the country. Pioneering the concept of such parks, the WBREDA was in the final stages of clinching consultancy tie-ups with the governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi, WBREDA director S P Gon Chaudhuri told a news agency.

"After the energy education park clicked here, we have been approached by these state governments for technical know-how on setting up such parks," he said after unveiling its ambitious Rs 92 lakh exhibit 'a journey to the sun' here last evening. Chaudhuri, this year's Green Oscar Award winner, said after the agreements are clinched, WBREDA would replicate the energy education parks on a turn-key basis.

"We would be responsible for similar projects in the country from the concept to implementation stage," he said.
