Annecy (France), Oct 25: Ex-Formula One racer Jean Alesi had his driving license confiscated, forcing his mother to take the wheel, by French Police for speeding at 191 km per hour, police said.
Alesi, who retired from F1 in 2001 after 13 seasons, was stopped Sunday morning on the A41 highway from Geneva, Switzerland, where he lives, to the southern French city of Lyon.
Police radar measured him driving 61 km per hour over the speed limit. Police took his Swiss driving license and a USD 885 fine, which Alesi paid cash.
With his license gone, Alesi's mother, who was riding with him in the Mercedes-Benz, took over the driving.
