Vadodara/Rajkot, Dec 16: Curfew was imposed in some areas of Rajkot just after midnight as violence spread to new areas of Gujarat following victory celebrations over the thumping win secured by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the assembly elections. Two persons were killed - one each in Vadodara and Rajkot - during group clashes even as the curfew which was imposed in Vadodara on Sunday afternoon, was relaxed on Monday. The situation in Rajkot is still said to be tense because a BJP worker is believed to be missing after the violence. Stray incidents of stone-throwing continued till late in the night in the city and spilled over to Monday. Mobs were roaming around on the streets on Monday asking the shop-keepers to down their shutters.

While one BJP supporter was stabbed to death, another was still missing. The police however plead ignorance of the missing person.
