Kochi, July 21: A division bench of the Kerala High Court today dismissed a writ petition seeking vigilance inquiry into the selection process to the post of sub inspector of police. The petitioners-- S Unnikrishnan and P S Vijayan of Kollam, had approached the court stating that irregularities had been committed in the selection process.

They had appeared for the examination and had been declared failed. While in some examination centres in Kollam and Alapuzha district 90 per cent of the candidates have passed, in some other centres all the candidates had been declared 'failed', they alleged. The bench, comprising Chief Justice J L Gupta and Justice A K Basheer, dismissed the petition declining to interfere in the matter.
