New Delhi, July 11: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today proposed that a legislation for construction of Ram Temple on undisputed land in Ayodhya be passed in the monsoon session of Parliament.
The brainstorming session of the Sangh Parivar top brass and senior Hindu leaders decided to intensify the agitation for such a legislation.
"We will be announcing a mass agitation programme. The details are being worked out," VHP firebrand general secretary Praveen Togadia told media in a day-long session here. The meeting of the high-power panel of Ram Mandir Nirman Andolan Samiti is being attended among others by VHP supremo Ashok Singhal and its senior vice president Acharya Giriraj Kishore.
RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat and joint secretary in-charge of BJP Madan Das Devi are also attending the meeting. Top VHP leaders have been demanding that Vajpayee should step down over his "failure" to bring in the legislation.
VHP is also expected to declare that it would not compromise over Kashi and Mathura in lieu of Muslims giving up their claim on Ayodhya. Bureau Report
