Annoyed over the Centre's inaction relating to problems facing the capital, particularly on the issue of CNG and polluting industries, former Delhi chief minister and senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana is planning to launch an agitation from December nine to highlight these issues. A large number of his supporters have been asking Khurana to take this step as they felt that the party's image has plummeted due to the Indecisiveness of the Centre on these issues, sources close to Khurana said.
They said Khurana as party leader in the capital for over four decades, had been in the forefront of building it and the attitude of the Centre has annoyed him considerably.
He is prepared to face the consequences but for him (Khurana) the interests of the people of the capital is the foremost, they said. Khurana is said to be having the support of film star MP Shatrughan Sinha and several other partymen.
The BJP vice president has had two meetings with urban development minister Ananth Kumar as well as MPs from Delhi and office bearers of BJP state unit but no decision has been taken on these issues, the sources said.
