Mumbai, Jan 30: Claiming that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would be defeated in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today cautioned the Congress from forging an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as there was a likelihood of it aligning with the BJP.
Addressing a well-attended rally at the historic Shivaji Park at Dadar in central Mumbai here, Yadav significantly refrained from criticising the Congress but lambasted the BJP for its policies.
The UP Chief Minister was particularly harsh on the BJP's economic policies and its ''feel good'' slogan. ''Where is the feel good factor?'' he wondered and quoted the official figures of 36 per cent of the country's population still being below the poverty line and millions of youth remaining unemployed.
He charged the BJP-led government of promoting corrupt practices even as unemployment had been mounting and prices of essential commodities sky-rocketing.
