Stamp paper scam: Narco test reveals Deshmukh`s name
New Delhi, Feb 10: A day after the stunning disclosure by Abdul Karim Telgi, prime accused in the fake stamp paper racket, the ripples of the case are being felt all over the country. Reports now indicate that Telgi has accused former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Desmukh of helping him obtain a license to start a business selling stamps.

Reports now indicate that Telgi has accused former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Desmukh of helping him obtain a license to start a business selling stamps.
This reportedly took place in 1994, before Desmukh became Chief Minister.
Telgi has also reportedly mentioned the name "Bhujbal" in his confessions, though no first names were used.
However this help was provided in 1994, much before Deshmukh became Chief Minister of the state.
Vilasrao Desmukh and Chhagan Bhujbal have categorically denied their involvement in the scam. Meanwhile an IPS officer in Andhra Pradesh was arrested by the state's Special Investigation Team in connection with the multi-crore scam.
Narasimha Rao, a Rajasthan cadre IPS officer of 1989 batch, was questioned by SIT sleuths and taken into custody this morning. He has now been remanded to judicial custody.
On Monday, Telgi told the SIT that he bribed the former Mumbai Police Commissioner R S Sharma with Rs 22 lakh and former Telugu Desam Party MLA C Krishna Yadav with Rs 32 lakh.
Telgi was interrogated after being injected with sodium pentothal also known as the truth serum. Bureau Report
