Islamabad, Aug 20: The release of Pakistani boy Muneer Ahmad by India with fanfare has prompted the parents of eight other boys who strayed into Indian territory and are now in custody to appeal to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to intervene and set free their wards. As Muneer was handed over to his parents by Pakistan officials in Lahore yesterday, parents of eight Pakistani boys have appealed to Vajpayee to release their sons who strayed across the border and were detained by Indian officials.

Among those who appealed to Vajpayee included a Pakistani Hindu in Sindh, Chanal Lal, whose son Danish Kumar (16) was detained in India. Bureau Report
