Union defence minister George Fernandes on Monday said Pakistan had adopted double standards on the ongoing United States led strikes in Afghanistan.
Talking to reporters in Gandhinagar, Mr Fernandes, who arrived at South Western Air Command Headquarters en route to Kutch, said on one hand Pakistan was 'fully' supporting the US in its war against terrorism while on the other hand they were also helping the Taliban as its men were found fighting along with the militia. Mr Fernandes said the total defence budget was of Rs 62,000 and a special provision of Rs 16,000 crore would be made in it for constructing three lakh houses for the defence personnel in next three years. He further said the advanced jet training programme, which was delayed for the last 23 years, would be completed soon. Bureau Report
