Shimla, Jan 16: Senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana today said the attempts of Congress to "distort the essence of cultural nationalism" had boomeranged in Gujarat and the same fate was awaiting that party in Himachal where assembly elections would be held next month. "Congress leaders lack vision and wisdom to run the country. AICC president Sonia Gandhi is impatient to come to power. A Gujarat-like fate is awaiting them in Himachal also," he said addressing a public meeting at Jwalamukhi in Kangra district in the fourth leg of the 'Viswas Yatra'.
The attempts of the Congress to distort the essence of cultural nationalism of the BJP had boomeranged in Gujarat and "all such attempts to stall our march ahead in Himachal and other states will also fail," Khurana said.
The BJP is prepared for a public debate on any platform on the performance of Congress governments in 45 years and five years of BJP rule in Himachal and at the Centre, the Delhi BJP chief said.
"Leaderless Congress can never come to power in Himachal Pradesh and the people of Himachal will keep up their tradition to vote for the party in power at the Centre," he added. Bureau Report
