Mumbai, Aug 10: In keeping with a judicial order, 86 accused, including film actor Sanjay Dutt, on bail in 1993 bomb blast case would appear before a special court today to mark their presence while 30 others lodged in Central Prison would be produced for trial which has reached its fag end. Special judge P D Kode has summoned all the accused today. Arguments have come to an end and the court is on the verge of delivering its verdict. However, considering the magnitude of the case and huge evidence, the judgement is expected by the year end, defence lawyer Subhash Kanse told newspersons.

Sanjay Dutt, who just returned from his month-long tour of South Africa and Tanzania, has been directed to appear today as his exemption period comes to an end today. He and other accused are likely to press for further exemption.

The court had allowed Sanjay to go abroad for shooting of Hindi film `plan' from July 14 but had asked him to appear on his return. Accordingly, he appeared before the court on August 7.
Sanjay is facing the charge of possessing an AK-56 rifle and destroying the weapon. He has already denied the charges.

The court had on July 7 modified the charge of conspiracy framed against Sanjay and 115 others with a view to include the name of co-accused Majnu Mustaffa, brother of absconding accused Mohammed Dossa.
CBI examined 686 witnesses and the evidence has crossed 13,000 pages. The accused are charged with carrying out serial blasts on March 12, 1993 which killed 257 persons and injured 713 besides damaging property worth Rs 27 crore.
