Guwahati, Apr 17: Assam unit of the BJP released a 'chargesheet' comprising allegations against the ruling Congress Government in Assam.
Releasing the booklet in Guwahati, state unit president Indramoni Bora said, the Congress party has formed the present Government in May 2001 and during the last three years, the state has gone from bad to worse.

"There is total lack of direction in all spheres of political administration and the Government has failed in all spheres," he added.

Assam has mostly been ruled by the Congress for last 45 years, while the AGP has ruled for ten years and Assam, which was at one time a fairly developed state, has gone down in the developmental index of the country being now ranked as one of the least developed states, Bora alleged.

He said the purpose of the publication is to apprise the people of the state about the poor economic foundation, unemployment problem, corruption, ethnic clashes, problem of illegal infiltration, misuse of central fund, pollution of socio-economic environment, deteriorating law and order situation and the total backwardness of the state.

"The Congress is responsible for the present pitiable condition of the people of the state and the only ray of hope is the BJP-led Government in the state.
