New Delhi, Sept 04: India and United States are poised for a quantum jump in military-to-military ties and interaction with the unfolding of a big calendar of joint exercises involving all the three services. Following up on the first ever joint exercises between Special Forces of the two countries held at Agra in May, Indian Special Forces and air force transport aircraft would be conducting joint training exercises with para forces from US Pacific Command at Alaska between September 29 and October 11.
In the exercises codenamed 'Jeronimo Thurst', C-130 Hercules Transport and Chinook helicopters of the US Pacific Air Force would be taking part.
"The exercises are aimed at further fine-tuning inter-operability, contingency management and paradropping", a defence ministry spokesman said.

Simultaneously, US and Indian naval warships, submarines and maritime reconnaissance aircraft would be involved in the largest ever naval maneuvers in the fourth of the series of exercises codenamed 'Malabar-4' in the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean off the Kochi coast. Bureau Report
