New Delhi, Sept 28: Under pressure from coalition partners to expand the Council of Ministers, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav arrived here yesterday to hold consultations with Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh in this regard.
The Chief Minister who has already held talks with RLD chief on different issues including the Cabinet formation is likely to meet him today to give a final shape to the Cabinet, sources said.
After assuming charge of Chief Ministership Yadav has appointed six Cabinet Ministers including two from the RLD, two from RKP and two from his Samajwadi Party and declared that a full-fledged Cabinet expansion would take place after September eight, after getting a vote of confidence.
The 16-member Congress Party, despite Yadav's request, has decided to back the Yadav government "for the time being" from the outside and not to be part of the government.
