Tiruchirapalli, June 22: Tamil Nadu BJP had cautioned the state government about the reported movements of extremists and terrorists in the state, the party stated at the two-day state executive meeting held at Karur near here today. The meeting said the party had warned that the members of al-Umma and other Muslim outfits lodged in prisons were hatching conspiracies while they were visited by their family members and friends in the prison premises. The meeting strongly condemned the political parties who had taken objections to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's remarks on Pope John Paul's reaction to the recently introduced ban on religious conversions. The meeting wanted the state government to attend the meetings of Cauvery Regulatory Authority regularly and obtain the "legitimate" water share for Tamil Nadu.
Praising Prime Minister's plans on national river grids, the BJP strongly condemned the governments of Kerala and West Bengal for opposing it. Bureau Report
