Panipat (Haryana), Oct 18: Taking a dig at the critics of the NDA government, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today regretted that some people were indulging in propaganda that the country has fallen on bad days. "Some people with crestfallen faces say India is being led into a ditch. Where is such a big ditch large enough to accommodate India," he said addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Panipat refinery expansion project here.

Refuting the charge, he said the country was on the path of progress and development and the need of the hour was to give up despair and work unitedly for the betterment of the country.
Referring to the progress made by India, he said those countries in the world "who were not even looking at US are now bending over their backs to please us."
