Ayodhya, June 15: Sunni Central Waqf Board (SCWB) and Muslim parties today accused the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team undertaking the excavation work at the disputed site in Ayodhya of not doing its job according to "archaeological norms". Board counsel Zafaryab Jilani handed over a letter to the two observers registering his objection here.

"The ASI team had not labelled the layers in the trenches' which was archaeologically a must," he said.

The board has also asked the ASI team to attach a sketch map of the excavated sections with its progress report, he said.

Jilani said that he would approach the special bench of the Allahabad High Court hearing the matter if the ASI team did not work according to the archaeological norms.

Meanwhile, two articles were found in the excavation work at the acquired land today, according to sources.

Excavation work was undertaken in six trenches in which two broken pieces of human figurine were found, sources said.

Examination of the recovered artefacts by the ASI team continued at Manas Bhavan here amidst tight security, sources added.
