Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 09: BJP Kerala unit today demanded an enquiry by a Central agency into the activities of organisations working behind tribals in the state. In a letter to deputy prime minister L K Advani, a copy of which was made available to the press, BJP state general secretary P P Mukundan said that foreign funds were allegedly being collected by certain `adivasi' organisations working in tribal pockets in the name of welfare activities. There were reports that copies of bible were found at Muthanga in Wayanad district from where tribals were forcibly evicted by police recently, the letter said.
A judicial enquiry would help to bring to light the facts behind the Muthanga incidents, but the state government was not prepared to order a probe, the letter said.
