Quetta, Pakistan, Dec 14: A bomb went off outside a roman catholic church in a tribal area of southwestern Pakistan, but no one was injured, police said today.
"A powerful explosion of dynamite took place in a garbage dump adjacent to the boundary wall," said Mohammad Riaz, a policeman on duty in the area. He said there was no damage to the church, which was locked up at the time.
The blast took place yesterday in the town of Kohlu, some 550 kilometres southeast of Baluchistan province's capital Quetta. The same church suffered damage to a wall in a similar attack in September. The church is regularly attended by about 26 families.
No arrests have been made over the incident.
Pakistan has seen a string of attacks against western and Christian targets that have killed more than 40 people since October last year. Bureau Report
