President briefed about Manipur law and order situation
Imphal, Oct 05: President A P J Abdul Kalam was today briefed on the law and order situation in Manipur by Governor Ved Marwah and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
Imphal, Oct 05: President A P J Abdul Kalam was today briefed on the law and order situation in Manipur by Governor Ved Marwah and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
Official sources said that Marwah and Singh called on the
president, who was here to inaugurate a heavy fuel-based power
plant, separately at Raj Bhavan and apprised him of the
present situation in the insurgency-hit state.
The Manipur council of ministers were also introduced to the president. The boycott of Kalam`s visit by some organisations figured during the president`s talks with the chief minister, the sources said.
The President and the Chief Minister also discussed ways to develop the state. Kalam told the Chief Minister about the 10 per cent funds available in different Union ministries for the development of the North-Eastern states and about the non-lapsable central pool of resources and border area development funds.
