Dubai, Oct 21: The first-ever UAE trade exhibition in India will open in Mumbai today featuring major petroleum, real estate and airline companies as well as financial institutions from the Gulf state.

"The four-day exhibition will be a turning point in probing UAE's investment potential in India and many major
deals are expected to be concluded," Abdul Rahman Falaknaz of international expo consuls, the organisers, told reporters.
Prominent among the participants will be Emirates Airlines, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Emarat Petroleum, Emaar Properties. A high-level business delegation from the UAE will visit Mumbai and other major Indian cities to study first hand the emerging business prospects in the country, Falaknaz said. President of the Indian Business and Professional Council, Ismail Hukkawala, said, "The Indian business community in Dubai will wholeheartedly support the exhibition seeking to promote two-way trade nearing USD five billion."
Abdul Rehman al Mutaiwee, director general of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that UAE was the second largest importer of goods from India after the US and there were about 10,000 Indian companies in the Gulf state. Consul General of India in Dubai, Y K Sinha, said there are 6,000 Indian companies in Dubai alone, including Bajaj Auto, Larsen and Toubro, Apollo Hospitals, Tatas, Reliance, Satyam Computers and Wipro.
