World Hindi Conference concludes in Surinam
Paramaribo (Surinam), June 09: The seventh World Hindi Conference concluded here today with the resolve to work for getting the language recognised at the UN, having Hindi chair established in foreign universities and propagate Hindi with the help of modern technology.
Paramaribo (Surinam), June 09: The seventh World Hindi Conference concluded here today with the resolve to work for getting the language recognised at the UN, having Hindi chair established in foreign universities and propagate Hindi with the help of modern technology.
The four-day conference adopted six resolutions including those for coordination among educational institutions for promotion of Hindi, encouragement for use of Hindi among people of Indian origin in different parts of the world and preparing a directory of Hindi scholars.
Over 400 delegates from 30 countries participated in the conference.
The resolutions said that Hindi, its literature and the cultural tradition nurtured by it were part of the world heritage and the language was spoken in more than 100 countries. It urged the Government of India to intensify efforts for getting Hindi recognised at the UN.
