The "Kai Po Che" star is playing the younger brother of Arshad's character in the Subhash Kapoor-directed film.

"Arshad is one of the best actors in this country and more than that he is a beautiful and amazing human being. When I was working with him on the sets, I never felt like working with a senior actor like him.

"We shared an instant connection and that helped us to bond well on-screen. He treats me like his younger brother in real life too. And that ease with each other even deciphered onto the screen," Amit told PTI.

Set in the dusty plains of North India, "Guddu Rangeela" is a story about two brothers trying to make ends meet in the crime infested surroundings.

Asked if their pairing will be as popular as Munna-Circuit of "Munnabhai" series, Amit said, "I am a big fan of both Sanjay Dutt (Munna) and Arshad (Circuit) bhai. Nobody can fit into the space of Munna-Circuit. But I am hopeful that 'Guddu Rangeela' will surely make its own identity in people's heart."

The TV actor is making a comeback to Bollywood after a gap of two years. He was last seen in Abhishek Kapoor's buddy drama "Kai Po Che" opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkumar Rao.

"Nothing is in your control. After you sign a film, you really have no idea when it will be made... But in next 12 months, I am coming up with four films.

"So, it's not in my hand and I am very happy and lucky
that in these years, I have been working and people still believed in me," said Amit, who will be next seen in "Yaara", "Akira" and "Runningshaadi.Com".

The actor said he opted for "Guddu Rangeela" because his character was completely opposite to his last on-screen outing.

"I took my new role as a challenge. Subhash is one of the best directors of our country and when he called me for the role of Guddu, I didn't even think twice over it. I didn't even hear the script and told him that I am on board," he said.

The trailer of the film, which will hit theatres on July 3, is garnering positive feedbacks and its song "Mata Ka Email" has become quite popular among the young crowd.

"Subhash sir writes really well. He knows how to play with words. He wrote the song for us because they are orchestra singers. The song is a modern adaptation of 'Mata Ki Chowki' songs, which are very popular in Northern India," he said.
