Mumbai, Oct 29: BJP today alleged that Congress
activists ransacked the office of a former BJP MLA here but
the Congress denied the allegations.
BJP's sources claimed that the congress activists were
irked by the saffron party's objection to serving food by a
Maharashtra minister to 1993 bomb blast accused in central
prison during Ramzan.
Police, however, said that they had not received any complaint of this nature and were inquiring into the matter.
But BJP claimed said they had lodged a complaint with police about Congress workers barging into Abhiram Singh's office at Vila Parle and allegedly damaging furniture over BJP's agitational programme against Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Kripashankar Singh.
Vice-president of city BJP unit Sumant Ghaisas said BJP workers had earlier protested against Kripashankar Singh for serving biryani to jail inmates, held in 1993 bomb blast case, on the occasion of Ramzan.
The protest demonstration was held in front of his house at Vile Parle in western Mumbai, Ghaisas said.
When contacted, Kripashankar Singh said the allegations of BJP were totally false and denied that Congressmen were involved in ransacking the BJP leader's office.
