Mumbai, Nov 20: Actress Manisha Koirala will enact the role of India`s first woman prime minister Indira Gandhi in a hindi feature film on the life and times of the internationally acclaimed leader. The project was launched on the occasion of 85th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi at a function here last night.
Titled ‘Indira Gandhi -- a tryst with destiny’, the film is produced by Nittin Keni on behalf Of Maharani Padmini Devi Prathisthan headed by former MP Uttamsingh Pawar. The film is being directed by N Chandra. Kamleshwar who wrote "Aandhi" and has conceptualized the new project for which Hridyanath Mangeshkar will score the music.
Keni, who produced the highly successful ‘Gadar’ for Zee, said "the film is a biographical sketch of Indira Gandhi. We are not going to fictionalize it or exhibit any bias while making the film but there will be a strong emphasis on objectivity.” Bureau Report
