Jaipur, May 19: A total of Rs 32 lakh would be spent on modernisation of eight select post offices in Rajasthan in the current financial year, official sources said today.

the current financial year, official sources said today.
A proposal to this effect was already under consideration
by the department of posts and was expected to be given the
green signal soon, principal chief postmaster general of the
state G Mohan Kumar told reporters here.

service under business development like speed post, express
post was to the tune of Rs 21.14 crores in the last financial
year, which was 31 per cent higher than the revenue achieved
in the preceding year, Kumar said.
Premium mail segment under speed post and business post was increased by 21 and 23 per cent and now included almost all major business and corporate houses of the state, he claimed. A new service named 'address verification' was launched last year in which a business worth Rs 3.5 lakh was done by a sponsors Reliance Infocomm Ltd, he said.
International money transfer, warrant payment service, electronic fund transfer, mutual fund/bong of SBI, RBI, and Postal Life Insurance (including rural) were taken up on a war-footing to raise the revenue collection, he said.
