Opposition force adjournment of Tripura house
Agartala, Sept 22: The speaker of the Tripura Assembly, Ramendra Nath was today forced to adjourn the house for twenty minutes following uproar created by the members of opposition Congress and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT).
Agartala, Sept 22: The speaker of the Tripura Assembly, Ramendra Nath was today forced to adjourn the house for twenty minutes following uproar created by the members of opposition Congress and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT).
Opposition Congress member Kajal Das brought a call attention notice at zero hour on a land deal at Agartala town and the speaker admitted the motion.
When the speaker asked Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to give a time suitable to him to reply on the notice, Sarkar said since the assembly would be adjourned tomorrow so it might be difficult to gather all information regarding the deal. Therefore, he said, it would not be possible for him to commit whether reply was possible tomorrow.
The opposition members then started pressing for the leader of the house to reply by tomorrow. They thumped the desks and shouted. At one point of time they overturned two desks and rushed to the speaker.
The watch and ward staff then threw a cordon and the opposition members started shouting slogans and forced to stop proceedings of the house. The speaker adjourned the house for twenty minutes after which the proceedings resumed.
