Spain suffers shock defeat, Turkey, Netherlands win

Zaragoza, June 08: Spain has lost its Euro 2004 qualifier against Greece even though the Greeks were reduced to 10 men, while there were wins for Turkey and the Netherlands.
Midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos gave Greece a shock 1-0 win against group leaders Spain with a magnificent 20-metre drive just before halftime in their Group Six Euro 2004 qualifier in Zaragoza on Saturday (June 7).
The Greek goal came completely out of the blue as Spain had dominated throughout and were desperately unfortunate not to have taken the lead after manufacturing a host of scoring opportunities early in the first half.
But the goal turned the game on its head and despite seeing their opponents reduced to 10 men with the sending off of defender Stelios Venetidis in the 82nd minute, Spain were unable to break down the dogged Greek defence.
It was Spain's first home defeat in a qualifying match since they lost 2-1 to France in a European championship qualifier Seville in October 1991.
With Ukraine grabbing a 4-3 injury time win over Armenia earlier on Saturday, the Greek victory throws the group wide open.
Spain continue to lead on 10 points, but are now just one ahead of both Ukraine and Greece, who meet each other in Athens on Wednesday.
Inaki Saez's side travel to Belfast to play Northern Ireland. Turkey returned to the top of Euro 2004 qualifying Group Seven on Saturday with a 1-0 away win over Slovakia.
Nihat Kahveci got the only goal of the game in Bratislava after 12 minutes. Slovakia's Szilard Nemeth set up a good chance for Vladimir Janocko, bu he shot wide.
The Turks, who won their opening three games before being dethroned by a 2-0 defeat in England in April, move to 12 points from five games.
England, who host Slovakia on Wednesday, are second on 10. Slovakia have six. Macedonia, who visit Turkey on Wednesday, have five after a 3-1 win over Liechtenstein on Saturday.
Striker Patrick Kluivert became the Netherlands' all-time leading international marksman when he scored the second goal in their 2-0 win over Belarus in a Euro 2004 Group Three qualifier on Saturday.
Kluivert, who struck in the 68th minute in Minsk, took his tally to 38, overtaking Arsenal's Dennis Bergkamp. His Barcelona team mate Marc Overmars broke the deadlock in the 62nd, two minutes after coming on as a substitute for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The Dutch went top of Group Three with 13 points from five matches. The Czech Republic are second with 10 points but have a match in hand -- at home to Moldova on Wednesday.
Overmars sped past three defenders and rifled the ball from 21 metres into the upper left corner of the Belarus goal. Six minutes later, Kluivert doubled the lead when he converted a pass from Clarence Seedorf who had controlled an outstanding long ball from captain Frank de Boer.
Kluivert could have scored again three minutes before the end but his header hit the crossbar. Seven minutes after the break the home side's goalkeeper Gennadi Tumilovich saved his side twice when he blocked a shot by the unmarked van Bronckhorst and then a close range header from Cocu.
Belarus substitute Alexandr Hleb forced Dutch keeper Edwin van der Sar to stretch out in the 55th minute when his shot from outside the box was heading for the left corner.
