Despite India ruling out early resumption of Indo-Pak talks, Pakistan on Sunday said the invitation to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to visit that country still stands. ''Our policy remains unchanged....We are ready to talk at any time, any place and at any level,'' Pakistan high commissioner Ashraf Jehangir Qazi said in an interview.
“The invitation extended by Musharraf to Vajpayee to visit Pakistan is ''still valid'',” he said.
His remarks come close on the heels of Vajpayee hitting back at Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf accusing him of pursuing a single-minded campaign on Kashmir. The Prime Minister also declared India would never part with Kashmir and would give a fitting reply to evil designs from the neighbour.
New Delhi has maintained that meaningful dialogue can take place only when Pakistan creates a conducive atmosphere by ending cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts.
