Bethlehem, West Bank, Oct 01: Three militants from the al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed offshoot of Yasser Arafat's Fatah Movement, were sentenced to life in prison today by an Israeli military court, their lawyer said.
Attorney Osama Oudeh said the three men from the town of Dura, near Hebron, were jailed for life for killing Israeli soldiers in the Hebron area, but no date was given for the slayings.
Amis Namura, 26, his brother Akram, 25 and Issac Darabiyeh, 33, were sentenced by an Israeli tribunal at the army base of Beitel, a Jewish settlement near the west bank town of Ramallah.
The father of one was also briefly arrested and threatened with banishment to the Gaza Strip, he added.
The man accused by Israel of heading the al Aqsa Marty's Brigades, Palestinian lawmaker and Arafat's West Bank Lieutenant Marwan Barghuti, is to make his third appearance in a civilian court on Thursday to face charges of terrorism and murder.
