Patna, June 20: The month-long monsoon session of Bihar assembly began here today but was adjourned till tomorrow after paying tributes to the leaders who died during the inter-session period. The house paid respects to Ghanshyam Singh, Indradeep Singh, Nathuni Ram, Shyam Sunder Prasad, Ramashraya Rai and Gorakh Rai who died during the inter-session period.


Speaker Sadanand Singh read out the obituary references followed by parliamentary affairs Ram Chandra Purve and leader of different opposition parties.


The Speaker, before adjourning the house for the day appointed the presiding officers and members of the business advisory committee.
Earlier, the Samata Party leaders blocked the main entrance of the assembly before it met for the day waiving placards and raised anti-government slogans.

They were demanding dismissal of the Rabri Devi government for its alleged failure to check the rising crime graph in the state.
