5 accused in Ghatkopar blast remanded to JC till June 16
Mumbai, June 03: A special court today remanded five accused in Ghatkopar bomb blast case to judicial custody till June 16 even as police informed further investigations were still on.

Mohammed Muzamil, Zahir Ahmed Bashir Ahmed, Imran Rehman Khan
and Mohammed Altaf Ismail.
Police had chargesheeted the accused on April nine. All the accused have been charged with conspiracy to cause the blast in suburban Ghatkopar. This is the first case in which Pota was applied. On December two last year, a powerful blast had ripped through a bus in suburban Ghatkopar claiming two lives and injuring 30.
Another accused, Sayed Khwaja Yunus, had mysteriously disappeared from police custody on January six. He is shown as absconding.
The chargesheet also mentions five other wanted accused. Among them is Sayeed Aziz Sayeed Rasheed alias Imran who was killed in an encounter at Hyderabad recently.
Altogether 191 persons have been cited as witnesses in the chargesheet. Police had obtained sanction from the government on April five to prosecute the accused.
