Bhopal, May 24: Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has introduced several packages for tourists to mark its silver jubilee year.

MPSTDC chairman Syed Sajid Ali told reporters here today that six packages are "honeymoon package, senior citizen discount package, summer discount package, monsoon discount package, student tours and merit discount for the tourists".
He expressed hoped that the discounts would bring in more tourists and boost the economy of the corporation. The central tourism department had sanctioned for the year 2002-03 Rs 870 lakh for the development of tourist spots like Sanchi, Bhimbaithka, Bhojpur, Vidisha and Hoshangabad.
Replying to a question, he said the tourism corporation has reduced its deficit from Rs one crore to Rs 36 lakh during the year 2002-03.
The chairman said after the Gujarat communal riots the flow of tourist was very low but now it was gradually improving.



Madhya Pradesh, with about 379 destinations, had a rich basket of wildlife, rivers and beaches to attract foreign tourists.
