Keo, a satellite meant for people on earth to find 50,000 years from now and with a capacity to carry six million messages of four pages, each has so far received only one million messages for being placed on board, most of it coming from the United States, Canada and the U.K. The developed world is yet to respond significantly.
According to the architect of Keo, the space time capsule is to be launched in December 2003 or January 2004, the deadline for the mails is December this year, possibly extendable by a short period. The countries that have responded are those where the use of Internet is high; in the rest of the world, access has been low.
