Mumbai, Apr 25: BJP today admitted that problems have cropped up in its alliance with BSP in Uttar Pradesh but ruled out any move to snap the ties with its partner there. "Yes, there are some problems in the BJP-BSP ruling alliance in Uttar Pradesh", party general secretary Pramod Mahajan said while addressing a press conference here.
There was a need to look into the "problems" but no decision has been taken to snap the alliance with BSP in Uttrar Pradesh, Mahajan said.
He also opined that cases should not be filed against VHP's "trishul-diksha" programme but added that his party was not part of the trident distribution campaign.
"As long as trishuls are not misused as weapons, cases should not be filed against VHP activists", Mahajan said.
It was for VHP to decide about taking up the programme at a national level, he said.
