Jaipur, Oct 15: All police stations in Rajasthan are to have women's desk and women constables, it was officially stated today. District Superintendents of Police have been issued with necessary directions by the police headquarters on the basis of the recommendation made by the state women's commission, headed by Pawan Surana, its secretary Prashakha Mathur said today.
The new arrangement would help women in approaching police stations to report complaints, Mathur said.
Women constables at police stations would ensure that women victims got quicker justice, she said.
The directives to the district Superintendents of Police have been issued by Additional Director General (CID-CB).
