Islamabad, Feb 12: President Pervez Musharraf today said
Pakistan should not be blamed for everything that is happening inside
Afghanistan and vowed his country would continue its anti-terror
campaign.
Addressing senior military officers at the National Defence
College, Musharraf said there was a need to sternly deal with the
situation in the regions of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan.
''On our western borders not everything that is happening in
Afghanistan is happening from our side,''Musharraf said.
Afghan authorities regularly complain that radical Taliban militia
as well as remnants of al-Qaeda are using Pakistani soil for
terrorist activities.
''But let us not bluff ourselves,'' Musharraf said. ''something is definitely happening there and we must stop it.''
Musharraf's warning came against a backdrop of reports from Washington that the Afghanistan-based American marines might be preparing another campaign against moslem militants.
