Ujjain (MP), Feb 22: Curfew was imposed in seven police station areas of Ujjain after two groups clashed over the removal of encroachments outside a religious site here last night.
Ten persons, including Inspector General (Ujjain range) Sarabjit Singh, sustained injuries in the clash. District collector Rajesh Rajora said the dispute between two groups over removal of encroachments outside a mosque took an ugly turn when both parties started throwing stones on each other.
The police used mild force and teargas shells to disperse the irate mob.
Rajora said the situation was under control now. Security has been tightened and additional police force has been deployed in the sensitive areas. Bureau Report
