Gulf Arab states welcome Palestinian truce
Riyadh, July 01: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have welcomed the three-month truce announced by Palestinian militant groups Sunday and called on Israel to implement the peace `roadmap`, a statement said.

implement the peace "roadmap", a statement said.
"The (GCC) general secretariat welcomes the truce
announced by Palestinian organizations whereby they will
freeze their military operations for three months," the
statement said today.
"The GCC urges Israel to fully comply with the provisions of the roadmap in order to reach comprehensive and just peace in the region as soon as possible," it added.
The GCC groups the oil-rich Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced Sunday a halt in anti-Israeli attacks, provided that Israel ends its depredations in the Palestinian territories and frees prisoners.
