Ahmedabad, Apr 15: Gujarat unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad today burnt the effigy of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and shouted anti-Sonia Gandhi slogans to protest against the arrest of its international general secretary Pravin Togadia by the Rajasthan government at Ajmer on Sunday. The protest demonstrations were held at all district headquarters in the state, a VHP spokesman claimed.
Several of the outfit's workers resorted to shouting derogatory slogans against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, including her Italian origins.
Several VHP workers, including few saints courted arrest soon after the demonstrations.
