New Delhi, May 27: Rising motorsport star Karun Chandhok rounded off a superb weekend at the Silverstone Circuit, London, with a top-place finish in round 10 of the British F3 championship yesterday. According to information received here today, 19-year-old Chandhok got off to an aggressive start but then struggled a bit due to vibration from the front end of the car. Chandhok, who had won round 9 before his two pole positions over the weekend, lost time as the race progressed due to the technical problems. He had to battle with championship class cars thereon which allowed his team-mate Steven Kane to catch up in closing stages. But Chandhok said, "Steven did not really get close enough to challenge for the lead. I knew that as long as I kept doing consistent laps, I would be okay. "I had to drive a little cautiously because of the vibration but it proved to be enough," Chandhok was quoted as saying in a press release. Thrilled after a successful weekend, Chandhok said, "To leave with two poles and two wins is absolutely fantastic. I really needed this." With his next race scheduled for June 22, Chandhok has moved to the second place in the championship positions behind Kane on 133 points. Kane has 151 points. Bureau Report
