New Delhi, July 21: Leading captains of Indian industry including Anand Mahindra, Phiroz Vandrevala, Rakesh Bharti Mittal and J J Irani will deliberate on the economic scenario of the country and focus on reform priorities at CII's National Council meeting at Bangalore on July 26. The meeting is being held in the backdrop of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's recent meeting with his council for trade and industry to identify measures for stepping up efforts to achieve 8 per cent GDP growth rate over the next five years.

"The economic agenda to be discussed at the meeting includes various banking issues, implementation issues relating to VAT, corporate disclosures, physical infrastructure and labour reform among others," a CII statement said on Sunday. Bureau Report
