Chandigarh, Delhi 17: Several villages of Haryana have gone under water as the Mandewala dam in Yamunanagar, which was under construction ruptured yesterday. There is panic in the state as water is gushing in more and more areas. Meanwhile, the Haryana government has ordered the evacuation of all villages located near the dam. The state administration has swung into action to contain the disaster. The gates of Tajewalan barrage have been opened to let in the excessive water of Mandewala dam. But there are fears of flooding in neighbouring Delhi, where the Yamuna has swollen. Experts pin the reason for the disaster to the pressure that the dam under construction, came under following incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal.
