Jerusalem, Nov 21:Maccabi Haifa will not be allowed to play their next home European clash in Israel, the club announced on Wednesday.
Haifa face AEK Athens in the third round of the UEFA Cup, playing the first leg on November 28 in Greece, with the return two weeks later, probably in Cyprus.

Club officials sent an urgent request to European governing body UEFA on Monday, but knew the chances of the ban being overturned were remote.
Israel has been deemed off limits to visiting teams due to the volatile security situation in the region.

"We are monitoring the situation in Israel and the Middle East very closely but we do not feel that it is possible to host matches (there) in the near future. We hope that the situation will change soon," a UEFA spokesman said.
Haifa, the first Israeli club to play in the Champions League, hosted their three Champions League group matches at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. Bureau Report
